In this issue of The Blast, we find out if Freestyle Artists make house calls, if 12" vinyls still a thing, and take a peek at our Freestyle calendar to see what shows are poppin' off and where!
Back in the late 90s, I was a Professional Mobile DJ for Private Events in NYC, sometimes I worked with Salsa & Merengue Bands, so this is a great idea. I wish the Freestyle artists much financial success and recognition. Jose
So far 1 & 16, but I intend to read them all. I've already started reading one of your books on Kindle. Please PM me because I have an idea that I'd like to share with you.
I never knew about Freestyle artists doing private events. Now that I think about it, I have a gut feeling that such events have occurred in my neck of the woods. As for the 12" vinyl out there, it makes me wanna remind myself to finally look into buying a record player from Walmart after seeing so many vinyl albums in the electronics section!
Whats up Marcus, yeah man, I'm sure plenty of private events went on by you, and as for that turntable... Walmart, or even Amazon. In fact, they have a turntable that also converts the vinyl records to a digital format to play online or on your phone. Thanks for chimming in.
Hello freestylers....I am all for artists to do private events....Its a great way for them to make $$ individually..without having to share the spotlight....Ive often dreamed of hiring a few to do a private show....and although we love many artists....we cannot hire them all!...I would personally choose Sa-fire, The Original Cover girls , and OG TKA..only because They put on a great show and their vocal range is still on point!.....As far as 12"...I remember my first purchase.."Clave Rocks"....I was hooked....I loved Mic Mac and Metropolitan.....They had the best artists!...(Solid, Sebastian, Soave, & More...ect....)....I still own a vitrola....and a few original records that I cannot part with!...Solid's "Loving you"...Tomaxx "Regrets only"...and My All time favorite cut..."Crimes of Passion"..by Spirit matter......Those were the days!...Long live 12".....Peace!!!!
Jose, thank you brother for the comment, and of course your many years of support of me as well as my acts... Oh, and of course The Freestyle genre as a whole. Well, the day you're ready to do a private event, make sure to hit me up and I'll make sure to carry you through it as smooth as silk. Thanks for reading The Blast!
Of course latif!.....I actually look forward to the letters....You're Subjects are interesting for us aficionados......I have some suggestions for you, which might interest your readers, as we get older...we now wonder about specific things about artists,....members, the songs, and other interesting issues....there is one in particular that I'm interested to know more about....im going to message you ..so that you can review and use at your discression.....keep up the good work!...PS..
